Follows the emperor penguins as they begin their long journey to their Antarctic breeding grounds where they will raise their young in some of the coldest, harshest conditions on Earth. During the dark, cold Antarctic winter, they incubate their eggs, using their warm bodies instead of nests. The devoted parents take turns caring for their young and trekking to the ocean in search of food, risking starvation and attacks by dangerous predators.
